In March, the works on what was once the first skyscraper of The Hague will start. It has a height of 65 meters and is called the “Toren van Oud”. The building will be transformed into 2 penthouses, 38 short-stay apartments, a modern fitness space, a lounge/lobby and an own parking garage.
The building is a beloved landmark in and around The Hague and offers a panoramic view over the North Sea and the centre of The Hague. The façade, famous for its yellow-blue colours which refers respectively to the beach and the sea, will be replaced by a new one which looks exactly the same. Only this façade is slimmer detailed and better insulated. At this moment, the building is being striped and the tower will be made one floor higher and 1 meter broader at all sides. Although the outer façade will be completely new, the architecture of the Tower will be unchanged. Rollecate will provide the whole tower with aluminium window frames with transparent solar-controlled glass.
