The new premises of parts supplier ForTop Zwartsluis serves as office and warehouse. The building has many distinctive features and a detailed design.
The design is inspired by the first design Gerrit Rietveld made for a factory named Weverij de Ploeg. The curved roof of ‘de Weverij’ are reflected in the design of ForTop . The windows in the roof allow much natural light. This is not only pleasant for the workers, but it also ensures that the lighting minimizes the need to use electricity.
There are mainly durable and robust materials used in this design. The walls are built of dark brick and concrete structure. This gives the building a factory -like appearance. The building covers a total area of 640 m2, of which 400 m2 is designed as an office. The rest of the space is intended for storage.
